The genesis of 'The Rescued' was to save items from the scrap heap because they had damage or needed repair that was not cost-effective.
This beautiful table is exactly why we started.

Internally, it is in great shape, with its green felt lining intact. It's sturdy and with all original fittings.
The damage was to the top. A dreaded oil infuser had been spilt and damaged the beautiful veneer.
The most economical way to reimagine this is to cover it in velvet, which we do to a lot of our stuff, as it elevates the piece and gives it interest. We think this is now back to where it belongs - a statement piece.

To give it a little bit of an original finish, it has been edged with gold gild - it ties it all together beautifully.
 
Originally a game / card table we think it has more potential in the right setting. Curious to know what you think.
