We love a special piece like this; they are so steeped in history that they just need to be connected with the right person who will cherish them and continue their story.
From our research, we have found that Patston and Sons was founded by S Patston in the 1790s and traded in Artilery Lane, Spitalfields market until the 1970s.
From the design, these are likely to be late 19th / early 20th century.
They are functional and are sold with a set of vintage weights.

Weights: 4 lb / 2 lb / 1 lb, 8oz and 4oz
 
We had fun cleaning and shooting the photos for these, with them having a brief spell as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, but I imagine them to be in a shop (maybe even in Spitalfields market) so they can continue to do what they have done so well over the years. Maybe you have another idea!
